Why The Words Method?
The Words Method teaches music reading by treating it like language acquisition.
Traditional music notation teaching is overly theoretical heavy on symbols and math, light on real musical experience which frustrates beginners.
Recognizing the vital role of musical literacy, Luiz Hauck developed a practical system, based on indian Konnakol and Kodaly, to teach score reading just like learning a language: hear it, speak it, then read it effortlessly.
Who is Luiz Hauck?
Luiz Hauck is a composer, guitarist, and music teacher who began his musical journey at age 7, inspired by Brazilian guitar.
He graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Composition from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and was a finalist in 2024 at the Tinta Fresca Festival with his orchestral composition Íntima Odisseia, performed by the Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra.
Recognizing the great importance of fluent music reading often neglected and a common cause of dropout among beginners he started developing the Words Method, based on Konnakol and Kodaly, that teaches sheet music like a living language, emphasizing intuitive practice over overly theoretical and mathematical approaches.
